AAAND WEEEEEE'RE BAAAAACK!

So.....none of us are really that good with technology. Not an excuse, really, just an explanation for our hiatus from the blogosphere. Big Whoop! Wanna fight about it?

OLD BUSINESS: You can check out the pictures from the CD release show on our website www.thecoathangers.com
That includes the photo booth pictures promised in our last post.

NEW OLD BUSINESS: We did a 5 week North American tour in June/July in support of Scramble. It was an adventure to say the least.

We made it up to the Great White North for the 1st time. Beautiful! The ppl were so nice (besides the annoyed cafe worker who served us even though she was closing)! In Toronto we found that you cannot make left turns and some streets cease to be two way when the green light is blinking at you. Winnepeg showed us just how crazy they could be when one of the members of the band we played with began shouting and throwing shot glasses at the wall behind the bar. Vancouver revealed it's dual nature. Driving through Kootenay Park reminded us of how unreal unspoiled nature can be.

Along the way we got to catch up with old friends (Demon's Claw, The Suicide Squeeze Posse, TAAS) and make new ones( the Numerators and A.J. the 85 year old comedian).
We got stopped by Bubbles the border patrol pooch in the middle of the desert for some questioning....and for her to show off her tricks like sniffing merch and swinging around on a stick. Tuscon's Hotel Congress gave some of us bad dreams....ghosts? The Pancake House in Lubbock, TX is half-restaurant & part make-shift museum. PLUS they have bacon pancakes!

Each us arrived home bruised and in one piec
e!
Thank you to everyone that helped along the way!

This brings us to....
NEW NEW BUSINESS: Fall Tour starts 9/27. This time we're going out with Japandroids from Vancouver. Prepare for totally domination!

Long Time No Blog!

Left Austin, TX a couple days ago and made the 17 hr drive here to Tucson AZ! Before Austin we played Dallas TX which was amazing as we had the pleasure of playing with not only the Strage Boys but also Wax Museums (all thanks to John!!!) It was a great show as was the show in Austin at Emo's! The first band had an accordion player who looked like George W. Bush... it was creepy and akward but playing with the Strange Boys again made it ok... Thanks to the fabulous SB as they took care of us while in Austin!!! (thanks fer the slushies Matt!) also its Meredith's Birthday today! woo hoo!! In any case this part of the country is like sitting on top of the fucking sun yet the friendly people seem to make it bearable... we're off to Phoenix AZ tonight... see you in Cali bitches!

Spa City Gets Crunk!

Sooooo... We played Hot Springs AR last night and wow... To sum it up the CH brang tha ruckus! Half way thru the set a hippie bum(who goes by the name Raven) was thrown out for getting outta hand, he called the cops, guy from the venue punched Raven in face, ambulance and cops proceed to take Raven and his crackhead friends away... Quite unexpected but amazing! Thanks to Sassy Goose, Bobby and Trista from The Exchange, and Raven, without you none of this couldve happened!

hello from Arkansas!!

Second day of tour has been quite good, been driving for 4 hours so far from Nashville to Hot Springs AK! Made a stop at The Country Store off I 40 (got a cookbook with various ways to cook raccoon and possum) as well as the beautiful town of Bucksnort TN... Thanks to Trampskirt and others over at the Springwater Supper club last night! Best show ever!! Also thanks to Chris from We Fun (and his dog Holden with his "reverse sneeze condition") for letting us crash at his house!
